Continuing to stand with her family
The sentencing hearing took place on September 24, 2026. This site previously collected Victim Impact Statements so people close to Sakeena could describe who she was and how her death affected them. Sakeena's life matters beyond any court proceeding. The end of the hearing does not mark an end to grief, and each person will carry this day differently. Her family's need for care, remembrance, and support continues.
